About the Role
• Set up documentation for point of care testing for each current and new site per NCCLS guidelines.
• Establish criteria for licensing and performance testing of staff (Certification Program) and develop on-line testing program as partner of e-learning
• Track personnel and site involved in training, schedule annual reviews of training and certification process
• Travel to sites for training and review of point of care records
• Develop and implement necessary accessioning and QC program for each POC test
• Track monthly compliance with program for each site
• Take corrective actions with non-compliant individuals through appropriate channels
• Develop PT programs where they do not commercially exist
• Comparative analysis of POC devices prior to implementing new devices
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required
Medical Lab Technologist training required
NYS Laboratory technologist license. NYS requirement
5 years of bench experience to qualify as a Supervisor
Knowledge of laboratory information systems required
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Knowledge of trouble shooting devices and root cause analysis when issues are identified
Description
The Supervisor will supervise Point of Care testing according to regulatory criteria. Direct the operations of the Point of Care Testing program for the Hospital. Maintain and monitor tests including glucose, urine analysis, urine pregnancy, occult blood, rapid strep and other using JCAHO, NYS and CLIA guidelines. Oversee regulatory compliance for outpatient and in patient sites.
